Why do Dungeon Masters carry a mimic?

The mimic has been in the Monster Manual since 1977 — the original "trap that looks like treasure." Every DM has used one against their players, so a mimic-print bag on the table is the inside joke the whole party gets instantly: my dice bag IS a mimic.

How many dice fit in a mimic dice bag?

Every design holds 300+ standard dice in the open version ($32). The 6-pocket versions ($41, or $47 color-coded) fit one full 7-piece set per pocket plus loose dice in the middle — 12+ sets total. The square base keeps the bag standing upright on the table.
