Mothman Dice Tray โ€” Foldable Rolling Tray for DnD

Mothman Dice Tray โ€” Foldable Rolling Tray for DnD

The GameFancy Mothman Dice Tray is a folding fabric dice tray, 5.5 ร— 5.5 inches with 1.2-inch sides, that snaps together at the corners and packs flat to half an inch. It costs $21.70, ships from Miami, FL in 1โ€“3 business days and has 84 verified reviews at 4.99 stars. It has been an Etsy bestseller twice and is the most-given small gift we make.

Who it's for

Half of the gift reviews on this tray mention Christmas. It is the stocking stuffer, secret santa pick or thank-you for a Dungeon Master: under $25, useful every session, and specific enough to feel chosen. Typical buyers write "got this for my friend who loves mothman and dnd" and "my DM is obsessed with Mothman". It also suits a player who already owns a dice bag, because a tray is the natural second gift.

What makes it different

  • Folds flat: unsnap the four corners, lift out the rigid base, and it is about half an inch thick and about 90 g, so it fits a jacket pocket or a stocking.
  • Fabric, not wood or leather: quiet rolls, no scratched table, and a Mothman print instead of plain black.
  • Removable hard bottom covered in gabardine, so dice roll evenly.
  • Snap-button corners set up in seconds at the table.
  • In stock in Miami, one of ten GameFancy designs that arrive in days.

Honest sizing: the base is 5.5 ร— 5.5 in, and once the soft sides are snapped up the free rolling area is about 4 ร— 4 in, enough for one player rolling a few dice at a time. For a heavy tray that stays on one table, a wooden one from another maker is the right call; our dice tray brands comparison lays out the options.

Size and materials

  • Base 5.5 ร— 5.5 in, sides 1.2 in; free rolling space about 4 ร— 4 in
  • Exterior: gabardine fabric with Mothman artwork
  • Interior: soft fabric surface for quiet rolls
  • Bottom: removable rigid insert covered in gabardine
  • Assembly: four snap-button corners; folded size about 5.5 ร— 5.5 ร— 0.5 in, about 90 g
  • Price: $21.70

What buyers say

Independent review

Dragon Blogger (Justin Germino) tested this tray in October 2026 in a written review and a short video. His verdict: "an easy accessory to recommend." He liked the snap corners, the removable hard bottom and how quietly dice land. He also measured the free rolling space at about 4 ร— 4 inches, so this is a one-player tray for a few dice at a time.

Buying it as a gift

Is a dice tray a good D&D gift under $25? Yes. Every player rolls dice every session and most never buy a tray for themselves. At $21.70 it is the cheapest GameFancy gift and one of the most used.

Does it fit in a stocking? Yes. Folded, it is a flat 5.5-inch square about half an inch thick.

Fabric, wood or leather? Fabric when the gift is about Mothman or about travel. Wood when it will live on one table. Most leather and magnetic trays are plain black.

Can I add a name or my own art? This print is fixed. For a name, a character or a party crest, the custom printed dice tray is $32.

Will it arrive before Christmas? Yes for US addresses: it ships from Miami in 1โ€“3 business days via DHL. Order by December 17. Orders over $99 ship free. More ideas by recipient and price: DnD Christmas gifts 2026.

Care: gentle hand wash at 30ยฐC, air dry.

FAQ

Why buy from GameFancy.org instead of Etsy?

We sell on both, but buying direct here is faster and fee-free. Same bag, handmade by Mariia in our Cherkasy studio โ€” you just skip the marketplace.

Will this dice tray fold flat for travel?

Yes โ€” it snaps flat in seconds and tucks into a backpack, dice bag, or binder, then pops open into a contained rolling surface. A compact foldable dice tray made for game nights on the go, conventions, and one-shots.

Will dice actually stay in it on a small table?

Yes. Soft fabric walls 1.2 in high keep dice contained and quiet even on a crowded table, so no more runaway d20s. The tray sits on a 5.5 ร— 5.5 in rigid base, with about 4 ร— 4 in of free rolling space between the walls: controlled rolls without taking over the table.
